STASIS-R 3.0 Stereo Control Preamplifier

The STASIS-R 3.0 Stereo Control Preamplifier is Threshold's latest application of the technology first employed in Threshold's flagship design, the STASIS-R 5.0. Like its more costly parent, the 3.0 is a classic example of the fine craftsmanship that has been the Threshold hallmark for 30 years. Striking a delicate balance between art and technology, the 3.0 is a stunning performer both in the lab, where it displays unsurpassed precision, and in the listening room, where it shows off its unparalleled transparency, detail, and depth of image.
The STASIS-R Series technology is the culmination of Threshold's years of research and development -- and is arguably a benchmark against which other preamplifiers, regardless of price or technology, must now be compared

Ergonomically, the unit is a pleasure to use. Volume, balance, source selection, mute and programming can be controlled with either the simple front-panel controls or with the supplied hand-held remote control. The source selected and volume level are displayed continuously on an attractive, easy-to-read LCD blue-white screen that switches to display other functions when needed. This display, together with the rotary digitally-controlled analog volume control, allows levels to be adjusted in 0.5 dB increments for precise, repeatable settings.

The Threshold STASIS-R 3.0 is an exceptional product in technical terms, designed as a tool to meet the needs of the most demanding audio professionals, but it is also one with a truly remarkable ability to stir the heart of even the most jaded audio purist.

STASIS-R 5.0 Stereo Control Preamplifier

The STASIS-R 5.0 Stereo Control Preamplifier is a classic example of the fine craftsmanship that has been the Threshold hallmark for 30 years. But it's also Threshold's latest and most eloquent statement-on-the-art of preamplifier design. Striking a delicate balance between art and technology, the 5.0 is a stunning performer both in the lab, where it displays unsurpassed precision, and in the listening room, where it shows off its unparalleled transparency, detail, and depth of image.
The STASIS-R 5.0 is the culmination of Threshold's years of research and development. A truly balanced, fully remote controlled preamplifier, with gain stages based on the highly acclaimed T2, the 5.0 is arguably a benchmark against which other preamplifiers, regardless of price or technology, must now be compared.

Ergonomically, the STASIS-R 5.0 is a pleasure to use. Volume, balance, source selection, mute and programming can be managed with either the front-panel controls or with the hand-held remote. The selected source and the volume level are displayed on an attractive, easy-to-read LCD blue-white screen that switches to display other functions when needed. The rotary digitally-controlled analog volume control allows levels to be adjusted in 0.1 dB increments for precise, repeatable settings.

The 5.0 is an exceptional product in technical terms, designed as a tool to meet the needs of the most demanding audio professional, but it is also, like the well-regarded historic Threshold preamps, one that possesses the magical ability to stir the heart of even the most jaded audiophile.

STASIS 7.0 Stereo Power Amplifier

The STASIS 7.0 is a compact version of our more powerful STASIS 8.0, yet it sacrifices nothing when it comes to revelation of nuance and inner detail. While its outer appearance may suggest an obsession with solidity and power, the 7.0 shows its true sonic character in the listening room, where it is a sweet and detailed reproducer of music.
This is not to overlook the 7.0’s capabilities in the areas of bass extension, quickness, and slam; its credentials in these areas are formidable, and immediately apparent. Still, the most noteworthy aspect of the 7.0’s performance is its gentle and honest reproduction of musical subtleties. In this respect, it is arguably the best stereo amplifier of its power rating that Threshold has ever produced.

In fact, its ability to reproduce transient attack and to resolve complex musical passages surpasses that of even our acclaimed T-series and e-line. The STASIS 7.0 delivers high current, employs minimal feedback, and uses an updated version of the front-end of the famous T200 along with the latest incarnation of our classic STASIS output topology. As with all STASIS products the amplifier is direct coupled input to output, with no capacitors in the signal path, utilizes close tolerance metal film resistors and matched JFETs, and employs a substantial power supply built around a massive custom toroidal power transformer, with separate power reserves for voltage and current gain stages.

High current capability, the importance of which is often left undiscussed, is something the STASIS 7.0 truly delivers in real-world terms. Able to provide staggering amounts of continuous current, the 7.0 can drive the most demanding loudspeaker loads, without strain or stress. In this regard, not surprisingly, it is the heir to Threshold’s legacy of high current, no-holds-barred performance. The carefully balanced integration of the best elements of classic Threshold products, together with-the-fruits of constant investigation and innovation specifically for this new generation of STASIS amplifiers, means that it is no longer necessary to choose between power for dynamic contrasts and resolution of fine inner detail. Dynamic range and subtle shadings are rendered with an unmistakable sense of truth and fidelity to the source that is truly remarkable. The STASIS 7.0 has raised Threshold’s acclaimed design philosophy to an unprecedented level—and that itself is a statement-on-the-art

S/7000e MonoBlock Power Amplifier

The S/7000e combines one of Threshold's most well-regarded traditional values--prodigious power at an affordable price--with the features required for Home Theater.
The S/7000e is the heir to Threshold’s legacy of high-current designs that effortlessly command and control demanding loudspeaker loads. But power is only part of the story. As one would expect from its audiophile pedigree, the S/7000e employs minimal feedback and is direct coupled input to output. The result is superb resolution of both musical scores and cinematic sonic effects.

The ability of the S/7000e to explicate complex soundscapes confirms its heritage--flowing not only from the famous Threshold designs of the past, but from today’s remarkable flagship power amplifier, the STASIS 8.0. Although ideally a single S/7000e will be used for each channel, the most typical 5.1 combination uses three S/7000e amplifiers for Left, Center, & Right with one two-channel S/5000e covering the rear channels. Both amps are equipped with 12Volt triggers so that they may be controlled from the processor. This "intelligent" trigger system also allows them, when used in a multi-channel setup, to turn on and off in stepped sequence.

The S/7000e now makes Threshold the highly affordable state-of-the-art choice for both music and cinema.
