DI-30 MKII and DI-20-Mark II
Digital Interconnect - Two of the better digital interconnects, you will surprised at the level of performance the cable can provide.

The DI-30 Signature is our newly developed top of the line digital interconnect. You may have seen it on our web site two months ago; then found that it dissappeared. We had to remove it because the first production run was quickly sold out. We have since replenished and it is available again.

It is available in true 75 ohm and 110 ohm configurations. If you order with RCA connectors, you will receive the 75 ohm version. If you order with XLR connectors, you will receive the 110 ohm version. It carries digital data only, not analog. You must have digital input and output jacks between your equipment to use this cable.

It takes advantage of silver in its design through use of our proprietary Silverfuse conductors. The DI-30 Signature has multiple conductors that are solid core, and individually insulated with a version of Teflon (which we modify to our specifications); resulting in the best insulation available.

This cable excels in a number of areas; most prevalent are the outstanding dynamics, focus, inner detail, and harmonic accuracy – and most important, it is enjoyably musical! These improvements are attributable to new design/construction developments. Specifically: the weaving geometry is done with a planetary cabler. This weaving machine, which allows engineers more freedom in designing more complex and more effective weaving geometries, also produces a much more accurate and consistent weaving geometry. Accuracy and consistency from foot to foot is essential to replicate and realize the benefits of the theoretical “on paper” design. The process is much more labor intensive, primarily in the set up for the production run, and in monitoring during the run. Consequently, it is more expensive to produce.

Additionally, we use PTFE Teflon in most all of our cables; however, the insulation we are using for this new cable, while it is purchased as PTFE Teflon, we are modifying it during the wire manufacturing process. Again, a little more costly. Our modification to the PTFE Teflon insulation allows for substantial reduction of the signal discharge back into the metal conductor. Explanation: All insulations covering a metal wire will absorb a portion of the signal as it flows through the metal wire. That signal will discharge back into the metal wire, although it is delayed by a small fraction of time. This discharge back smears the real time signal that is passing through resulting in small but discernable distortion

DI-20 MK II takes advantage of silver in its design through use of our proprietary Silverfuse conductors. The DI-20 MK II is available in true 75 ohm and 110 ohm configurations. It carries digital data only, not analog. You must have digital input and output jacks between your equipment to use this cable. The conductors are solid core insulated with Teflon; the best insulation available. There are, however, two types of Teflon: PTFE and FEP. FEP is less costly for the cable manufacturer; but is Significantly inferior to PTFE. We use PTFE. Have you ever seen any other cable company specify that their Teflon is PTFE and not FEP? There is a message there. We have developed a shielding system that is completely independent of the signal carrying conductors. This ensures that no RF or EMI gets into the signal – dead quiet background.

We have also included a heavy-duty outer jacket to protect the interior and to also prevent against sharp bending of the cable. We have found that Cables that do not have this additional protection, if bent too sharply, can be susceptible to sustaining small fissures (cracks) in the conductor which, over a period of time; degrade the performance of the cable. This is one of the reasons that used cable gets into the used cable market. Performance has deteriorated and usually the former owner does not realize why. This is especially true of Cables that use a mesh cloth as their only outer protection. (Mesh cloth outer coverings are a sign of a hand made cable. see our “Cable Hype” page in our web site concerning the problems with hand made Cables).
We use Locking RCA connectors. These connectors have Teflon insulators and have bodies that are machined rather than stamped out of sheet metal. They are tight-fitting and provide the best possible electrical connection. An effective anti-static and vibration damping barrier ensures no distortion from these these causes. How does this cable perform? This improved interconnect makes all traces of digital "grunge" disappear. It is designed to be perfectly neutral without emphasizing any portion of the frequency range. Sound stage, transparency, openness and fidelity of timbre are, we believe, un-equalled. Our customers agree and tell us this cable is the equal of any cable on the market and exceeds most others in performance regardless of price. Also available with BNC connectors. Please specify if desired.

EXPLANATION OF OUR PROPRIETARY SILVERFUSE CONDUCTOR MATERIAL: Silverfuse is a near alloy of silver and copper. IT IS NOT SILVER PLATED OR SILVER CLAD. Plating (or clad, which is the same thing as plating) causes a dioding effect when signal is passed through resulting in brightness and distortion. The Silverfuse process starts with seven nines OFHC copper wire with a diameter that is slightly larger than the required size. It is then pulled through a trough of molten silver. The wire with a silver deposit, is then forced through a compacting die where it is subject to tremendous pressure. The silver and the high purity copper are fused together into a near alloy. The compacting fusion also reduces the wire diameter to the desired size. No dioding subsequently occurs with this process. The result provides for the benefits of silver; which are excellent definition and clarity, with the high purity copper benefits of warmth and mellowness.

I've tried this cable (DI-20-MKII) from a friend and
it performs at a very high level, even with simple connectors. With the
eichmanns should be even better. Only an Audioquest vsd4(silver) on eichmann
plugs I tried as well, surpasses it a little in speed, resolution and
dynamics but that lacks a bit body and warmth by comparison. And is also
more expensive. (that cable by the way also slaughters the Nordost silver
shadow which is so hyped and expensive) The LAT with the eichmann plugs on
it should become about even in most aspects then. And it presents images in
a more natural size and place in the soundstage. Mr NP Holland 22 Mr 06
