The primary benefit in using a high quality well-designed power
cord is the substantial improvement in dynamics, transient response,
soundstage and the providing of a dark and quiet background. Stock
original equipment power cords restrict the above desirable features.
There is no shielding/filtering system in their design to eliminate
the transmission of RF, EMI and other garbage to your components
that your house wiring and power company has picked up along the
way. We have developed a cabling (weaving) pattern along with an
unusual shielding/filtering system that gets rid of the garbage
that contaminates your components. The difference you hear with
our cord is astounding. Our power cord takes advantage of silver
in its design through use of our proprietary Silverfuse conductors.
The conductors are 10 gauge and insulated with Teflon; the best
insulation available.
Anyone who is knowledgeable of power cords in the High-End industry
and is also knowledgeable of those that receve great recommendations,
will, I am sure, know of the reputation of our original AC-2 Power
Cord. We have been working for over 6 months on trying to develop
a better one; (no easy task!).We had to be certain that any upgrade
would an upgrade in all areas of performance: clarity, focus, dynamics,
inner detail, harmonic accuracy and of course, it must be musical.
After six months plus, we did it!!
The AC-2 MK II is truly an outstanding power cord.
The design and construction improvements are in two specific areas:
The weaving geometry for the Mark IIs is done with a planetary cabler.
This weaving machine, which allows engineers more freedom in designing
more complex and more effective weaving geometries, also produces
a much more accurate and consistent weaving geometry. Accuracy and
consistency from foot to foot is essential to replicate and realize
the benefits of the theoretical on paper design. The
process is much more labor intensive, primarily in the set up for
the production run, and in monitoring during the run. Consequently,
it is more expensive to produce. Our weaving geometry though, effectively
gets rid of RF, EMI and other garbage to your components that your
house wiring and power company has picked up along the way.
Additionally, we use PTFE Teflon in most all of our cables; however,
the insulation we are using for this new cable, while it is purchased
as PTFE Teflon, we are modifying it during the wire manufacturing
process. Again, a little more costly. Our modification to the PTFE
Teflon insulation allows for substantial reduction of the signal
discharge back into the metal conductor. Explanation: All insulations
covering a metal wire will absorb a portion of the signal as it
flows through the metal wire. That signal will discharge back into
the metal wire, although it is delayed by a small fraction of time.
This discharge back smears the real time current wave form that
is passing through resulting in small but discernable distortion.
We continue to use our proprietary Silverfuse alloy conductor material.
We are pleased that we have achieved our development goals and
are providing additional increments of performance improvement to
enthusiasts.
