Threshold Stasis 3.0 Pre - SOLD

Stasis 3.0 with remote

The Threshold brand was founded in 1974, introducing the first of what would be a long series of groundbreaking products using the STASIS technology, developed and patented by founder-engineer Nelson Pass.

The term stasis means a state of equilibrium and balance among various forces. Threshold amplifiers always delivered on this implied stability. STASIS, however, was also a technology in motion. In a world where the only constant is change, the name STASIS has meant continuing research, evolution, and improvement. Advances occurred with each new STASIS model, including the famous 400A (1970s), the SA3 and S/500 (1980s), and the e series flagship, the SA12/e (early 1990s). Threshold also made some well regarded preamplifiers, including the FET 10/e, which although not a STASIS design, was a mainstay of the Stereophile Magazine Recommended Component List for many years. http://www.threshold-audio.com/

VC- 2 rrp £11500 sale £???- Piano Black with Pomele Veneer - ex-display - boxed - never used so in mint condition

Difference between AC and VC series - only the quality of the finish. The AC series is finished in black/ivory paint where as the VC series is finished high gloss laquer, the exception to the rule is the VC series in semi gloss. There are some other minor diffreneces such as the grill fixing on the AC series is black and the VC series gold plated, the VC series also has a gold plated ring between the tweeter and the panel. One other difference is the logo on the AC series is a gold plate inset on the sound boards, on the VC series it is in gold foil on the sound boards and on the bottom front of the speaker, the logo is applied in the same way as on the piano. Otheriwse the AC and VC series use the same drivers , same crossover, same spikes and binding posts and more importantly - SAME SOUND.

Picture on the left is the AC-1, in the middle is the VC-7 gloss black and on the right the VC-2 gloss black / pomele
